Paris? Check! London? Been there! New York? Done and dusted. Now time for Shanghai.
If you haven’t guessed already, then it is about time you get on board. It is the time that makes you feel like Christmas has come early… Victoria’s Secret fashion show!! Felt like only yesterday when we were watching the angelic performance on our screens. It will be the first time the worldwide famous show will take place in Shanghai, China. With it previously taking place in fashion capitals such as New York, Cannes and Los Angeles, amongst many others, the countdown to the runway is officially on. Save the date (and your money) for 29.11.17.
What is it we have got to get excited about? Besides the washboard abs on the models, of course it is about how big the angel wings can get. The creative brains behind the beautiful wings are currently still making sure every little sequin and feather is sewn on to perfection. But it is the collaboration with Balmain that is getting our wings flapping. Magazine Elle France made a statement on VSXBalmain saying “It’s the first French fashion house to collaborate with Victoria's Secret and we cannot wait!”. If we could pick anyone to collab designs with the most glamorous lingerie, has to be said it is the perfect combination. Balmains previous collections have been one to talk about; where every embellishment and gem has been perfection. We challenge you to think of a better collaboration than this. Excuse me, can I book this day off work?
Lais Ribeiro will be a name you will soon see all over your social media and screens. She has been selected to wear the famous fantasy bra, that all angels dream of wearing. The 2017 Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra was custom made by Mouawad, a designer who has designed for the VS collections for numerous years. The bra will be hand set with nearly 6,000 precious gemstones in 18 karat gold, costing around $2 million. Yes, I had to double take that figure as well… Lais will be involved in the collaboration that aims to prove beauty and excellence. Since 2001, Mouawad has been entitled to a solid collaboration with the lingerie retailer VS. They have been triumph of award winning bejeweled creations, making only the best Fantasy Bras, that we all cry with envy to be able to even hold, let alone wear. Lais Riberio, you work that Fantasy Bra on the runway!
Now, who else will be joining Lais in the line up as an angel? Watch this space.

The new high street collection - Erdem X H&M
Waiting for what H&M pulls out of the bag in terms of their collaborations, always seems like a decade too long. From the show studded past collaborators, it has to be said this was one of the most anticipated ones yet. London based designer Erdem Moralioglu teamed up with H&M and looking at their collection together, it was one that was easily wearable for all trendsetters and style influencers.
Erdem has a flare, that not many designers can carry off. His inspiration comes from what he sees and invisions with his own memories, designed signatures and what all city folks secretly love… The countryside. Erdem said “It is very personal. The collection reinterprets some of the codes that have defined my work over the past decade, and it’s also inspired by film, music… things i loved growing up”.
What can we expect from this collection? If you haven’t already been refreshing the H&M homepage since it came out, then most likely your new favorite designers collection will be one you will get green eyed over. Coming out on 2nd November, it is now available both online and in 220 worldwide stores. So it is about time you get hunting for that tea party tweed set. The sharp tailoring throughout the pieces screams silhouette, whilst the feminine florals are an interpretation of his catwalk collections saying how he has always been fascinated by femininity “I’ve always been fascinated by the language of femininity, whether it’s lace or flowers or aesthetics of beauty” says Erdem.
For H&M, Erdem went into designing a wardrobe that was versatile for the woman and man (yes, for the first time ever, a collection for men). Think romantic meets modern. As much as I would love to buy multiples of each piece in the collection, I have to put the selfishness aside and remember others have to shop as well. For matter of a fact, ERDEM x H&M purchases are limited to a maximum of one of each item per person. This applies to all items in the collection including accessories, shoes and bags.
Happy shopping and et's hope your bank balance agrees with your style. We can blame it on Erdem. It isn’t our fault we like to look pretty.

Rihanna's Fenty x PUMA AW17 Runway
It’s a not a surprise that the Rihanna Fenty x Puma AW17 collection took the crowd by storm. Rihanna in her own words wanted to create a "Marie Antoinette at the gym" look for Paris Fashion Week.
The show was held in the magnificent Paris National library and we instantly, thought of preppy/sporty American high school fashion, but with Rihanna’s and Puma’s badass version of it.
Singer turned fashion and beauty icon has been raising the bar for designers and brands for quite a while now. This anticipated collaboration made us fall back in love with the cult sportswear classic, Puma.
Classic pieces like tartan fabrics and wellington boots were paired with American style shirts, puffer jackets, and the classic Puma logo. Makeup was just as important as the pieces, warm-toned eyeshadow and cool toned lips was used to revamp the fall trend.
Each model was seen on the catwalk holding an item in relation to the theme, some held teddy bear backpacks, books, and skateboards adding that cute geek chic. Alongside traditional tartan motifs, we saw bursts of loud primary yellow and orange colours, resembling familiar basketball shirts, worn by the Lakers.
Sport’s wear has come a long way since the 70’s where it was first popularised. Rihanna x Puma reinvents this style by bringing together old school looks, reviving it with a fresh 2017 style.
