GREEN VEIN

Green Vein: A Beauty Editorial on Skin, Light and Tension

There is a quiet tension running through Green Vein, a beauty editorial shaped by skin, light, texture and restraint. Rather than approaching beauty through excess, the series finds its strength in control. Every frame feels close, almost private, yet there is a sharpness beneath the softness, a sense that the image is asking the viewer to look more carefully.

Created by photographer Damien Etcheverry, Green Vein explores the relationship between the face and the visual language placed upon it. The makeup does not sit on the skin as decoration. It appears to move with it, becoming part of the surface, part of the expression, part of the mood. Green becomes the thread that connects the series, not simply as colour, but as an emotional presence. It is cool, graphic and slightly unnatural, yet still intimate.

The portraits are close and considered. Through tight crops, glossy textures and restrained expressions, the editorial moves away from traditional beauty polish and instead enters a more psychological space. The face becomes both canvas and character. There is minimalism here, but it is not passive. The images hold a quiet confrontation, asking for stillness while resisting prettiness in its most conventional form.

What makes Green Vein compelling is its balance between softness and structure. The light feels clean, the framing precise, yet the result remains human. The editorial does not attempt to overpower the viewer. It draws them in slowly, through details, through skin, through the subtle pressure of colour and gaze.

For Etcheverry, the project also marks a more intentional editorial direction. It is a study in framing, mood and visual discipline, where beauty is treated less as perfection and more as atmosphere. Green Vein becomes a series about surface and feeling, about what happens when makeup becomes emotion, and when a portrait allows tension to remain visible.
