What will the independent fashion- conscious woman be wearing this Autumn? Think strong animal print and leather (not together – unless of course you want to). With the Trump circus never ending and the #metoo movement making headlines all over the world it’s no surprise current affairs are making their way onto our clothes.Read More
Whether you are a Star Wars fan, a shoe hoarder or a bit of both, then this news will be one of the most stylish ways to end the year. Usually known for his red-soled shoes, shoe designer Christian Louboutin has made magic once again by reuniting with Walt Disney Studios. Christian Louboutin and Disney have collaborated numerous times together with one being the reinterpretation of the “Cinderella” slipper in 2012 and also 2014’s “Maleficent” shoe. But how can they follow up from these designs? By creating a showpiece to link with the release of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” of course…
It was a lucky time for the four female leads: Rey (Daisy Ridley), Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo (Laura Dern), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) and Rose Tico (Kelly Marie Tran), as Louboutin creating a pair of shoes for each. The unique styles are to debut with the release of the last Star Wars movie.
If you have a nick for all things eBay and auctions, then get your fingers at the keyboard ready. The footwear is up for auction from now until December 20. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Starlight Children's Foundation, which supports critically ill children in hospitals, on behalf of Star Wars: Force for Change. And if that doesn’t make you want to purchase a gorgeous pair of shoes, then don’t know what will…
“[Disney and ‘Star Wars’] are very, very strong at developing characters,” says Louboutin. “I have the same thing when I’m designing shoes. I often think of a character, so in a way for me, it totally makes sense to work around the character because that’s basically what I do.” He adds that his “Star Wars” designs are “a take on the characters from the movie, but also made for the actress.”
And I feel we are getting spoilt by the creative duo’s as although one pair of limited-edition Louboutins - signed by the designer and a Star Warsactress may I add - seems like a big enough prize alone, there's even more included in the package. Winners get a second pair of the shoes plus a chance to visit the Lucasfilm headquarters, tour the studio, and view a special screening of The Last Jedi in San Francisco on January 16. *jaw drops* So if you have some savings left over, or are willing to blow your Christmas pay cheque before it has even gone into your bank, then the bids currently range from $2,000 to $3,250, but the packages have an estimated value of $10,000 each. And anyways, the best part of any person is always their Dark Side.. So why not treat yourself.
Take a look at the long anticipated collection, that you could potentially be the owner of.
