The European sneaker marketplace has announced Sean Wotherspoon as both an investor and its new Chief Community Curator, a move that signals a wider cultural ambition for the platform as it prepares to launch a community crowdfunding campaign on Republic on 8 April 2026. Under the ownership of Responsible, which acquired KLEKT in November 2025, the business is positioning itself for growth beyond sneakers and into a broader resale ecosystem spanning streetwear, collectibles and circular commerce. 

For a platform that built its name on trust within sneaker culture, Wotherspoon’s arrival feels strategic rather than symbolic. KLEKT has framed the partnership around community, storytelling and authenticity, values that continue to shape the resale market as consumers move further toward secondhand fashion and collectible-led commerce.
