Principe di Bologna SS’26 Finds Stillness at Montjuïc in “La Siesta Primavera”

There is a particular kind of seduction in stillness. Not the absence of movement, but the confidence to slow the world down around you. For Spring Summer 2026, Principe di Bologna leans into that feeling with La Siesta Primavera, a campaign that unfolds in Barcelona at the iconic Piscina Municipal de Montjuïc, a location already embedded in pop-cultural memory, and here reimagined through a softer, more composed lens.

The setting matters.

Suspended above the city, Montjuïc carries both cinematic familiarity and an architectural clarity that suits the brand’s language. Against this backdrop, Principe di Bologna presents a collection grounded in statement footwear and accessories, yet never forced. The mood is elegant, sun-warmed and faintly nostalgic, balancing leisure with precision.

At the centre of the season is a study in craftsmanship. The collection turns toward matte woven textures and artisanal surfaces, drawing attention to heritage methods that feel neither decorative nor sentimental. Instead, they bring depth. Knotted slingbacks hand-crocheted in rafia lavorazione crochet and kitten-heel mules informed by the treccia a tubolare technique speak to the kind of luxury that reveals itself in construction rather than excess.

That tension between refinement and ease

It carries through the women’s offer. Vintage sport-inflected sneakers in technical nylon and suede, leopard sandals, bohemian moccasins, metallic silver sandals and pointed gothic shoes with micro-buckle details create a wardrobe that moves between restraint and attitude. There is range here, but the collection remains coherent because it stays anchored in texture, silhouette and finish.

Balletcore, still echoing beyond the Milan runways, appears in mesh ballet flats in tulle, styled with woven leather cross-body bags or geometric chain-link clutches. Yet even when the references are trend-adjacent, Principe di Bologna avoids the obvious. The styling feels less like trend compliance and more like an instinctive understanding of how contemporary femininity is being dressed right now: light, sharp, self-aware.

The men’s collection moves with a similarly measured confidence

Here, the brand reworks formal codes through material experimentation and subtle irreverence. Tricolor brogues disrupt the expected visual language of classic menswear, while loafers in high-tech naplac leather are shaped using a seamless Tubular technique intended to enhance flexibility and fit. The result is polished, though never rigid.

What makes La Siesta Primavera compelling is that it understands modern luxury as something lived in rather than displayed. A nude casual backpack replaces the corporate briefcase. Beach-ready sabot sandals and blue suede high-tops with hand-braided detailing suggest a wardrobe designed for movement between spaces, moods and identities. Even the matching suede beauty case, doubling as a clutch, reinforces the campaign’s central gesture: elegance without strain.

Founded in 1961 by brothers Ulderico and Quinto Pistonesi

Principe di Bologna has long been rooted in shoemaking tradition, while also drawing on a broader cultural imagination shaped by music, cinema and Italian style history. What began as a family workshop has since evolved into a brand with a distinct point of view across men’s and women’s collections. That legacy is present here, but it is not treated as archive. It is reactivated.

In La Siesta Primavera, Principe di Bologna offers more than a seasonal campaign. It offers a mood: one of heat, pause, tactility and poise. In a moment when fashion often mistakes noise for relevance, this collection finds its power in control. Quietly, confidently, it lets the details speak.
